Timeless Tides
My voice guides visitors through Timeless Tides: a sensual exploration of matter and the body, inspired in part by methods used in hypnosis, inviting the audience to experience rather than simply intellectualise.
NeuroNarratives brings together five pairs of artists and neuroscientists who work collaboratively to translate neuroscientific research into experiential, mixed-media artworks. The project asks how a deeper understanding of the brain and mind might challenge our assumptions, shift our perspectives and change the ways we understand our own inner experience.
Timeless Tides is the work of Korean multidisciplinary artist and designer Kurina Sohn and psychologist and cognitive neuroscientist Dr. Leila Salvesen. Sohn’s research-led practice moves between poetic design, sculpture and immersive installation. Salvesen’s research explores consciousness, from dreams and sensory disconnection during sleep to meditation, altered states and the ways our brains construct experience. I contributed the guiding voice of their installation.
